Unknown to everyone, Nel’s long lost sister Annabelle happens to visit Walnut Grove with a traveling circus. She also happens to be the ‘Fat Lady,’ much to Harriet’s chagrin. Meanwhile, Laura has a competitor for Almanzo’s attention…

Great episode guys! Annabelle was always one of my favorites. Anytime they sneak in some character history I always find it cool. The best example for me was Harriet’s back story in The Preacher Takes A Wife. When I first saw it, I thought… aha! No wonder she’s such a witch! Anyhow, what I have always thought strange about this episode is, I’ve read and heard Melissa Gilbert comment that her first kiss ever (in real life and acting) was in the episode Sweet 16. I guess she forgot about this episode or there was a stand in dressed as the clown kissing Dean Butler!
