Hey everyone – I hope all of you are having a great week and are staying warm as we approach Thanksgiving (poor Tom!) and the gift giving holidays!

I am working on kind of a personal and strange release.  It’s a collection of some of the music I listen to when I am working on the post-production and doing research for Walnut GroveCast, VHS Rewind, Mixtape Rewind, and the soon to be relaunched RetroTV and ForgottenLI .

I created an entire episode this past summer but felt it was narcissistic to release it and promptly erased the hours of work. I casually mentioned the idea to a fellow podcaster who loved the idea so much that he somehow convinced me to recreate the now deleted episode.  The link here is to a higher quality version that will not be publicly released – personally, I can’t wait to listen to this in the car but hey, I’m biased 🙂

Although I listen to a lot of genre’s of music, I find what what works best for me when writing, researching and creating is what my wife has lovingly dubbed as, “Sad Bastard Music”.  and yes, I listen to a lot of female bands….  I hope you guys like it.

Time – 45:36

  • i love that stuff too. I grew up with R.E.M, the Smiths, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Tears for Fears. INXS etc.
all the kids in my family we all love Depeche Mode. My sister and I saw them in concert in 1998 in Oakland.
One of my favorite documentaries of all time is Depeche Mode’s 101. I wish i could have been one of the teenagers who took the bus from New York City to the final show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The trip looked awesome.
You definately couldnt do a trip like that today.
Reminded me of a friend from Tampa who won a radio contest in 2001. He won super bowl tickets to the Tampa Bay Bucs game when they played the Raiders in San Diego. He also won cash and a RV. he drove the RV from Tampa to San Diego and he would write blogs on the internet about his experience traveling to the game in the RV. That sounds rad. I like taking road trips. My favorite was going to my cousin’s wedding in New Mexico we drove a conversion van from Sacramento to Albuquere. My dad wired a tv set in the back aisle and my brother sister and I watched VHS tapes and played a Super Nintendo on the way there and back. Good times
    Love the podcast.
